About
Cathy Chochon moved to Chaffee County in 2005 and feels blessed to be living in such an incredible area. She grew up in rural Nebraska in a town similar in size to Salida, so she appreciates all that small towns offer. Known for being a “straight shooter”, she lays out the pros and cons of properties with clients so they are fully confident with their real estate decisions.
A graduate with honors from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, Cathy holds a bachelors degree in Business Administration. Her contract experience started immediately after college while working for the State of Nebraska on traffic safety related issues. Twelve years and hundreds of contracts later she moved to Chaffee County to enjoy life without tornadoes, mosquitoes, and humidity.
Prior to real estate Cathy worked locally for Moltz Construction as a Project Coordinator for 8 years. There her marketing and contract experience broadened while compiling proposals and contracts for multi-million dollar water and wastewater treatment plant projects.
She brings a wealth of contract experience and enjoys helping clients learn the importance in the details of property boundaries, water law, and homeowners associations. Cathy is known for being detail oriented, which is demonstrated in her thorough research of properties. As she puts it, “I get a kick out of digging in and discovering small issues and addressing them before they blow up into actual problems.”
Cathy lives in Salida, is active in her church, and has a keen interest in local politics. In her spare time, she enjoys year round hiking. She is fascinated with the local mining history and loves to explore “off the map” sites. Cathy considers herself a “lifelong learner” who is constantly seeking out learning opportunities. She has served on various workgroups for the Realtors® of Central Colorado, is a past Chair, and is the current Secretary for the 250 member organization.
